I think we can start to appreciate the show contender from Indonesia. Who's want to start? Any great local koi to compete??? Come on!!!
I believe the committee will do the shortcut procedure as last year that will make us to easily enter the kois to the show ground without have to clear the health issues in the airport.
We'll wait the annoucement of rules and regulations to this show soon enough.

HELLO EVERYBODY!

TQ Bro Handy for posting up this 4th Asia Cup Show Thread and posting up the Rules & Regulation.
We have been in touch with several parties in Indonesia rgd the Show including Pak Budi -APKI, All ZNA Chapters. PAk Wiwie-Golden Koi, Pak Kiki- Samurai.

We have also sent them the rules & regulations and also the procedures for importing kois into Malaysia for the show. The import procedures has been made very simple for this Asian Cup. However, because of strict International Laws, you still need to present Health Certificates. You may refer to your Koi Dealers about this. (We believe APKI would have distributed this information by now) All Kois can be imported straight to the Koi Show Ground. ( No additional quarantine is required) Under this arrangement, all kois must be shipped back to their originating country after the show.

To answer your question:
1. Is there any recomendation hotel near by from committe?

The Official Hotel is CITITEL, at The Mid-Valley MegaMall. We are getting Group rates which I think is nett RM226.20 with B/Fast. Mid Valley MegaMall is a Huge Mall like Gading Mall where you can shop & eat till you drop!

The SHOW Site is at the Matrade Exhibition & Convention Centre which is 15 mins by road to the Hotel (Kalau Ngak Macet [traffic Jam])
We will have a bus that will take all guest & Judges from Hotel to show site in the morning & back to the Hotel in the evening. You can take this bus. In between, you need to rely on Taxis.

2. How to reach that area from KLCC and KL Sentral ?

To Hotel
From KLCC-Taxi is easiest. But you can take a Putra LRT to KL Sentral station and switch to the KTM Commuter line to go to station near Mid Valley. You have to walk a bit from there. So Taxi Is still the best.

3. How far is it from Bukit Bintang ?

Hotel to Bukit Bintang is around 15 mins & Bukit Bintang to Show site is also around 15mins (if no traffic Jam) But depending on time of the day especially at Bukit Bintang area can be quite bad.

Hope this is sufficient ifo for now. I will continue posting about our Fantastic collaboration with KOIS on the on-line show registration which impressed us a lot.

Cheers

Bro Handy,
The pleasure is mine.

To All Brothers at KOIS.

ZNA Malaysia association with KOIS started from the 3rd KOIS Festival when Bro Ricky (ZNA Jakarta Chapter) asked if we could go judge at that festival. We cud not refuse an invitation from Our Bro Ricky. We were impressed with the enthusiasm of the committee & members of KOIS and not to say the quality of the kois. What a long way you have come. Since then we have sent our Judge to the 4th Festival.

The success of the 5th KOI Festival really showed the maturity of the club and all our team members were really impressed with the organisation, the strong support from dealers, sponsors and of course all the koi kichis. Almost 1000 entries! We were also overwhelmed by the generosity of KOIS in hosting us. However, what we were most impressed with is your on-line show registration and result reporting system! THE BEST WE HAVE SEEN! We congratulate you! We know the incredible amount of work that goes into the manual registration (dreadful task!) Your on-line system makes the job so much more efficient. We could not help but request permission to use the system for the 4th Asia Cup Show. We are very happy to KOIS said yes and it's free of charge save for some expenses to modify and translate into English language! So it's confirm 5 members of KOIS headed by Pak Helmy will be in KL to help us make the show a success.
On behalf of ZNA Malaysia, I like to thank Pak Robby and his committee for kindly helping us in this show.

More updates to come. Watch out for the auction kois!

Cheers

Bro Hee Heng,

We can't insert photos directly to this forum, so we should put the photos on 3rd party, i.e. photobucket etc or the link from other forum.
On top of reply menu when you click Quick Reply or Go Advanced, there's an "insert image" button which lay on three from right. Click that button, and paste the image location link. I hope you can get what I mean by.

Dear Bros,

We received information that only Samurai Koi will submit kois for the Asia Cup Show... With the simplified import procedure, we are anticipating a big contingent from Indonesia...

Bro Handy mentioned about lack of Non-Gosanke variety for the show. Cud this be the reason? Pls read what we have posted on another forum rgd the issue. MAybe with your input, we can do better to attract more entries from Indonesia..

Too little category in the Non Gosanke Variety.

Actually we very much like to have more varieties and we have discussed this matter before we decided on the varieties and sizes.

The following are our observations based on the take up rate in non Gosanke varieties.
In many of the shows in the region including those that have kois exceeding 1,500 pcs & where non-gosanke is popular, many of the varieties and at various sizes have very poor entries; sometimes as little as 1 to 3 kois. From recent results published for major Japanese shows, this is also the phenomenon.

As the 4th Asia show is held in Malaysia, we also reviewed our 10 years show statistics, the problem becomes even more apparent becuse we regard non-gosanke as "Charp Yue" We were torn between the wish for more varieties and the issue of poor entries in the non-gosanke categories.

However, If there is genuine demand and participation, this can be brought to the committee for consideration. So it will help tremendously, if you can quickly suggest which non-gosanke varieties will enjoy good participation and should be a category by itself. We have also spoken to Bro Handy (Monscine) about this and he will discuss this his peers.

Cheers
HWONG

To whom that wish to send their kois to the 4th Asia Cup Koi Show,

APKI will help to get special export and import permit for the show kois. However, you should send your kois picture lists to APKI by 8th May 2011 so they can register those kois to our fisheries department and declare that the kois are sent for the show only and not to be sold overthere. All the kois sent HAVE TO be sent back to Indonesia, otherwise the koi is dead. Upon the dead koi issue, you should give a strong evidence like photograph to convinve the authority.

Please do follow the requirements needed for the Malaysian authority too for the special license to send the show kois.

Bros,

This 4th Asia show is fast developing into a truly Asian show. We got wind that there will be kois coming in from Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Kuching, Sabah, Brunei and Possibly Hong Kong. That is ont top of kois coming in directly from Japan.

This can only happen with the enthusiasm of hobbyists and the effort of the respective country's koi dealers in promoting and handling the koi entries.

I must specially thank Bro Handy for working hard to promote the show in Indonesia.

TQ

Welkom Danny and Mie,

Firstly thank-you for visit and become our forum member.
This time, the show will be more merrier, as it will have some heavy weight class contenders. The rumours, there will be "The Pandora", which I believe been bought by our Indonesian hobbyist from European gentlemen which by coincedence, the gentlemen name is the same as you (or is this you for real?? :D)

Beside that, we'll have another contender from Singapore heavy weight class hobbyist, Mr. David Soon, whom will jump in his kois to the show. Some of his kois can be seen on the video below :

There are about 20s of us that shall be there to visit and witness this biggest show in Asia. See you there, Danny. Good luck!!! ;)

Cheers,
Handy
