    Bro Handy,
    The pleasure is mine.

    To All Brothers at KOIS.

ZNA Malaysia association with KOIS started from the 3rd KOIS Festival when Bro Ricky (ZNA Jakarta Chapter) asked if we could go judge at that festival. We cud not refuse an invitation from Our Bro Ricky. We were impressed with the enthusiasm of the committee & members of KOIS and not to say the quality of the kois. What a long way you have come. Since then we have sent our Judge to the 4th Festival.

The success of the 5th KOI Festival really showed the maturity of the club and all our team members were really impressed with the organisation, the strong support from dealers, sponsors and of course all the koi kichis. Almost 1000 entries! We were also overwhelmed by the generosity of KOIS in hosting us. However, what we were most impressed with is your on-line show registration and result reporting system! THE BEST WE HAVE SEEN! We congratulate you! We know the incredible amount of work that goes into the manual registration (dreadful task!) Your on-line system makes the job so much more efficient. We could not help but request permission to use the system for the 4th Asia Cup Show. We are very happy to KOIS said yes and it's free of charge save for some expenses to modify and translate into English language! So it's confirm 5 members of KOIS headed by Pak Helmy will be in KL to help us make the show a success.
On behalf of ZNA Malaysia, I like to thank Pak Robby and his committee for kindly helping us in this show.

More updates to come. Watch out for the auction kois!

    Cheers
    HWONG

    Bro Hee Heng,

We can't insert photos directly to this forum, so we should put the photos on 3rd party, i.e. photobucket etc or the link from other forum.
On top of reply menu when you click Quick Reply or Go Advanced, there's an "insert image" button which lay on three from right. Click that button, and paste the image location link. I hope you can get what I mean by.

    Hello again,
    I have more information:

    Koi Import Procedures
We are pleased to inform that we have made special arrangements with our Department of fisheries to allow the importation of Kois into Malaysia for the competition. Kois can be imported from your country and no quarantine needed subject to the following conditions.

    1. submit Copy of Koi Health Certificate from your Country's Authority.
    2. preferably submit results of lab test for SCV & KHV etc. but if your Authorities can issue the Health Certificate based on visual inspection of kois, this will be accepted as well.
    3. Submit a copy of our invitation to the Show (we will provide to you)
    4. Submit a copy of organiser's letter to our Fisheries department (we will provide to you)
    5. Packing list & invoice.

Your kois shall be sent directly to the show ground and kois must be placed in your assigned tanks in a special area for foreign entries. This tank shall be deemed the quarantine area. Kois cannot be removed from the tank until after the show. Your kois must be repacked and shipped back to your country right after the show on Sunday.

Your Kois shipment must be accompanied by the attached form. Pls fill in all relevant information. requested.

With this simplified, we hope you will be able to support the show in a big way.

The following Malaysian dealers / Transporter have agreed to act as your coordinator and handling agent:

    • Thailand - Yamakoshi Mura- Mr FP Soo +6012 411 3179
    • Indonesia- Yamakoshi Mura- Mr FP Soo +6012 411 3179
    • Singapore ( by bonded refrigerated truck) - Mr Johnny +6012 333 9956 Importation & transport only. No koi handling at show.
    • For other countries, pls contact us if you need help.

Should you have further queries, pls feel free to contact us. [email protected]

    Best Rgds
    HWONG

    Dear Bros,

We received information that only Samurai Koi will submit kois for the Asia Cup Show... With the simplified import procedure, we are anticipating a big contingent from Indonesia...

Bro Handy mentioned about lack of Non-Gosanke variety for the show. Cud this be the reason? Pls read what we have posted on another forum rgd the issue. MAybe with your input, we can do better to attract more entries from Indonesia..

Too little category in the Non Gosanke Variety.

Actually we very much like to have more varieties and we have discussed this matter before we decided on the varieties and sizes.

The following are our observations based on the take up rate in non Gosanke varieties.
In many of the shows in the region including those that have kois exceeding 1,500 pcs & where non-gosanke is popular, many of the varieties and at various sizes have very poor entries; sometimes as little as 1 to 3 kois. From recent results published for major Japanese shows, this is also the phenomenon.

As the 4th Asia show is held in Malaysia, we also reviewed our 10 years show statistics, the problem becomes even more apparent becuse we regard non-gosanke as "Charp Yue" We were torn between the wish for more varieties and the issue of poor entries in the non-gosanke categories.

However, If there is genuine demand and participation, this can be brought to the committee for consideration. So it will help tremendously, if you can quickly suggest which non-gosanke varieties will enjoy good participation and should be a category by itself. We have also spoken to Bro Handy (Monscine) about this and he will discuss this his peers.

    Cheers
    HWONG
